Terry is a senior lecturer in population health and is the programme director for the Bachelor of Health. She spent many years working in South Auckland to develop innovative and responsive youth health services. Terry co-developed SPARX computerised cognitive behaviour therapy, which is now publicly available in New Zealand, and has contributed to many other digital mental health approaches in New Zealand and internationally. Terry has published widely in youth health and digital health areas. She chairs the Adolescent Health Research Group which carried out the Youth2000 surveys among New Zealand high school students in 2001, 2007, and 2017. She is the Principal investigator for Integrating Survey and Intervention Research for Youth Health Gains research project.
I have been teaching Computer Science since 1999 with Game specific courses from 2004. At undergraduate level I have taught everything from Game Design, with a focus on system design, to GPU programming and Multithreaded optimization. For graduate-level research, I focus on Serious Games, mainly Games for Health and Games for Education.
Russell is an educational psychologist who supports young people and their families with behavior, learning and mental health challenges. He is also working on his Phd with supervisors Terry Fleming and Simon McCallum on Sparky, a mental health causal video game for adolescents.
