COVID-19 Update!

Covid-19 is threatening both our physical and mental health. We all need to work hard at remaining calm, and being kind to eachother. The specific challenges related to mental health in isolation are:

  • Finding mental space: Try to organise some time when everyone in your bubble is quiet, even for 2 minutes can help.
  • Isolation: There are lots of good tools that you can use to connect to friends and family outside your bubble
    • Hangouts, Facebook live, Zoom, video calling is a great way to connect.
    • Discord: is a great way to chat while doing activities like online gaming.
    • Find a buddy: We are all in this together, find a friend who you can send a regular morning text to so that there is a connection. Even if it is just "Morena" it can help.
  • Boredom: Finding activities beyond binging youtube and netflix can be a challenge
    • Learn programming: CodinGame is a fun way to learn to code
    • Online resources: The government will be releasing a bunch of stuff soon
    • Learn Te Rao: This could be a good time to broaden your language ability Te Whanake
We are working on updating resources and trying to get our apps and information updated to meet the increased need during lockdown.
